I've met many different women who talked about their confinement approach based on culture & lifestyle..In many cultures, the pregnancy period is considered a state of ‘hotness’ while the postpartum period is conceived as a cold and vulnerable state...in Chinese culture, women practiced a ‘no bathing’ restriction during their confinement, whereas most Malay and Indian women showered daily during their confinement.
